BOWLING GREEN — The Cinderella ride of the Southview baseball team continues into today’s Division I regional championship game. Again using the formula of superb pitching, errorless defense, timely hitting, and a break or two, the Cougars took a 3-1 victory over Northern Lakes League foe Anthony Wayne in a regional semifinal Thursday at Bowling Green’s Steller Field. Easy-going Bryan gets another close win

TIFFIN — This baseball postseason is turning into a continuous party for Bryan, and no one is ready to pull the plug. The Golden Bears clapped in unison, made fun gestures, and dangled silly ornaments in their dugout Thursday to conjure positive vibes in their first regional appearance in 15 years.

HAMLER, Ohio — The Patrick Henry baseball team pulled within one game Thursday of a familiar trip south. But first, the Patriots must nudge aside a program that knows the way to the state tournament in Columbus like few others. Patrick Henry and Tinora will meet at 5 p.m. in today‘s Division IV regional final after both romped to stress-free semifinal wins, with the host Patriots thumping McComb 13-2 and the Rams taking down Toledo Christian 12-1 in five innings.

Lake struggles to get key hits in 3-2 loss to Huron

ELIDA, Ohio — Lake was unable to overcome its inability to collect a key hit Thursday in a Division III regional baseball semifinal at Elida High School. The Flyers left 10 runners on base, including eight in scoring position, as Huron posted a 3-2 win.
