Three area softball teams reached the elite eight of the state tournament only to fall short of advancing to final four. Maumee, Elmwood, and Lakota made deep runs in the postseason by reaching regional championships. Maumee (19-11) reached a regional final for the first time since 2001. Titans’ Browns, Irish’s Delp finish strong at state tennis tourney

Brothers Kevin and Ryan Brown of St. John’s Jesuit finished second in doubles at the Division I state tennis tournament. Central Catholic senior Dugan Delp won his third consecutive TRAC No. 1 singles titles and advanced to state for a third consecutive time, where he finished in fourth place.
