PERRYSBURG 67, BOWSHER 60

Seth Morgan scored 23 points, Cam Glowacki added 20, Jackson Sizemore 12, and Ian Riddle 10 as the host Yellow Jackets prevailed in overtime in the boys basketball opener for both teams Thursday night.

Ajai Washington led the Rebels with 23 points. Markus Ray added 12.

LAKE 79, NORTHWOOD 55

Ahmad Smith scored 17 points, Ben Stowers had 16, and Matt Pindoley 11 as the Flyers won on the road in the season opener for both teams.

Demond Marks led the Rangers with 16 points. Gabe LaPlante had 13 points and Tyler Lindhurst 10.

Girls

WAITE 36, WOODWARD 34

Only three players scored for Waite (1-1, 1-0 City League). But one of them, Mikalya Taylor, finished with 23 points to spark a road victory.

Julana Byrd scored 16 points to lead the Polar Bears (0-3, 0-1).

CLAY 50, SCOTT 40

The homestanding Eagles opened the season  as Elizabeth Vincent gets 15 points. Clay pushed out to a 22-7 lead at the half.

Scott  (0-3) was paced by Aaliyah Armstrong with 14 and Sasha King with 11.

FREMONT ROSS 75, ST. URSULA 44

Brooklyn Baptista set a school record for most 3-pointers in a game as the Little Giants rolled to a Three Rivers Athletic Conference victory.

Baptista finished with 21 points for Fremont Ross (3-0, 1-0 TRAC) and made five 3s. Jazmin Bulger added 12 points, and Olivia Baptista and Jasannah Sabiers each scored 10.

Gabby Whitzel finished with a game-high 10 points for St. Ursula (0-1, 0-1).

EASTWOOD 70, WOODMORE 51

PEMBERVILLE — In the Northern Buckeye Conference opener for both schools, Jamie Schmeltz led the Eagles with 22 points.

Eastwood (3-0, 1-0 NBC) displayed strong perimeter power with 10 3-pointers. Jaylee Souder and Hannah Owens each had 10 points.

The Wildcats (2-1, 0-1) picked up 12 points from Brooke Freund.

OAK HARBOR 94, HURON 10

HURON — Logan Harris scored 33 points as the Rockets (3-0) rolled to a win at Huron (0-1). Emily Lenke added 17 points, Sophia Eli 13, and Abby Dornbusch 10.

EVERGREEN 38, AYERSVILLE 29

AYERSVILLE — The Vikings opened up a 12-point lead at the half and hung on for the non-league victory. Abi Borojevich led Evergreen (1-2) with 15 points.

Ashlee Tressler’s 10 points led Ayersville (0-3).

DELTA 56, TINORA 37

DELTA — Senior point guard Madison Mattimore scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Panthers (3-0) remained unbeaten. Abby Freeman added 20 points for Delta.

Madison Brown scored 11 points to lead the Rams (2-2).

PETTISVILLE 58, FAYETTE 27

FAYETTE — Nichole Foor scored 22 points as the Blackbirds jumped to an early nine-point lead. Morgan Leppelmeier scored 15 points for Pettisville (2-1, 2-0 Buckeye Border Conference), and Brandi Schnitkey added 13.

Addison Bentley and Mataya Rufenacht each scored nine for the Eagles (1-2, 1-1).

DEFIANCE 47, PATRICK HENRY 35

HAMLER — The double-digit scoring power of Carlee Smiddy and Emily Poling drove Defiance to victory. Smiddy finished with 14 points, and Poling added 10 points in the non-league win.

The Patriots got nine points each from Katelyn Drewes and Abby Carrizales.

STRYKER 44, MONTPELIER 33

MONTPELIER — Haley Doehrmann scored 19 points and Brittney Haines 11 as Stryker (2-0) won on the road.

Rebekah Carr led the Locomotives (1-2) with eight.
