Whitmer steps up in last 2 minutes to beat St. Francis
Things did not look promising for host Whitmer late in the fourth quarter of a Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys basketball matchup against St. Francis de Sales Friday night.
The Panthers had squandered their own five-point lead from the third quarter with seven turnovers in that period, and trailed St. Francis by five with under two minutes to play.
But, Whitmer (4-0, 3-0 TRAC) found a way in final 1:35 behind the shooting of 6-foot-5 junior Edward Colbert, and rallied to a 45-42 victory over the Knights (3-2, 2-1). FULL STORY/PHOTO GALLERY ■ VIDEO
Southview rolls over Anthony Wayne in NLL play
Southview had all facets of its game going throughout an early-season match-up with Northern Lakes League opponent Anthony Wayne on Friday night.
The Cougars dominated on both offense and defense on their home court as they handed the Generals a 69-52 setback.
