Boys basketball: Woodley, Maumee Valley stay unbeaten in TAAC

MAUMEE VALLEY 70, OTTAWA HILLS 61

Jaiden Woodley scored 25 points as the Hawks beat the Green Bears in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys basketball game Thursday by going 31-of-35 at the free-throw line.

Zeb Jackson had 15 points for Maumee Valley (5-1, 4-0 TAAC), and Caleb Kynard scored 10 points.

Ottawa Hills (4-2, 2-2) was 23-of-30 from the line.

Eliot Cummings led the Green Bears with 25 points, and James Silk added 16.

CARDINAL STRITCH 88, DANBURY 44

LAKESIDE — Joey Holifield tallied 22 points as the visiting Cardinals used a 27-7 second-quarter run to sprint by the Lakers in Toledo Area Athletic Conference play.

Little Anderson added 20 points and Jordan Burton finished with 16 for Cardinal Stritch (9-0, 5-0 TAAC).

Ian Kuzma had 12 points for Danbury (2-3, 1-2).

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 66, GIBSONBURG 54

Owen Gast had 23 points as the host Eagles flew past the Golden Bears in TAAC play.

Delano Smith added 13 points and Trevor Wensink had 12 for Toledo Christian.

Addison Weaver finished with 30 points for Gibsonburg, and Josh Ernsthausen added 10.

FAYETTE 54, MORENCI 31

FAYETTE — Trey Keefer had  18 points as the Eagles won for the fifth time in seven games.

Karrsen Schaffner added 10 points for Fayette (5-2).

Jarett Cook had 12 points for Morenci (1-4).

HURON 53, PORT CLINTON 31

HURON — The host Tigers roared to a 29-11 halftime lead and never looked back.

Michael Hurst had 16 points and Casey VanCouwen 11 for Huron (2-2).

Max Rumbarger had 15 points for Port Clinton (0-4)
