Girls Basketball: Central Catholic holds on late, knocks off Southview

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 52, SOUTHVIEW 49

Grace Crawford finished with 17 points as the Fighting Irish (14-2) won a nonleague girls basketball game Saturday afternoon at home.

Lauren Perry scored 15 points for Southview (13-3), which saw a potential 3 to tie it at the buzzer miss the mark. Halle Barnett added 10.

DETROIT EDISON 54, NOTRE DAME 52

Gabrielle Elliott scored 15 points and Rickea Jackson added 13 for visiting Detroit Edison (15-1), the No. 1 ranked team in Michigan.

Kailah Johnson finished with 16 points for the Eagles (14-4), who had two shots rim out at the buzzer. Ariel Cummings added 14 points and Jala Johnson 12.

DETROIT COUNTRY DAY 78, WAITE 22

Maddie Novak finished with 14 points, and Kaela Webb and Adrian Folks both added 12 for visiting Detroit Country Day (10-2).

Mikayla Taylor led Waite (3-10) with eight points.

LIMA SENIOR 51, OTTAWA-GLANDORF 47

LIMA — Balanced scoring helped the Spartans (8-10) win. Taja Oglesbee led Lima Senior with 17 points, Nakiya Sigman scored 13, and Talor Washington had 10.

Kadie Hempfling scored 21 points for Ottawa-Glandorf (15-2).

MAUMEE VALLEY 50, OTTAWA HILLS 42

Shannon Herrmann scored 19 points and Emma Daugherty added 12 for the host Hawks (11-8, 10-2 TAAC).

Sophie Summers led Ottawa Hills with 19 points.

ROSSFORD 42, NORTHWOOD 17

The visiting Bulldogs were led by Sam Mikonowicz with 12 points. 

Kirsten Dombrowski paced the Rangers with six.

HOLGATE 35, McCOMB 31

HOLGATE — Bailey Plott scored 11 points for the Tigers, who won at home. Malorie Schroeder led McComb with 10 points.

WILLARD 43, OAK HARBOR 38

WILLARD — Logan Harris scored 16 points for Oak Harbor (12-4, 6-3), which lost its league game in overitme at Willard (11-5, 8-1).
