  • For the first time this year, there’s a new leader atop the Division I boys Blade poll.

Southview has passed St. John’s Jesuit for the No. 1 ranking on the strength of a 15-1 season, with the only loss coming to Division II leader and undefeated Wauseon. The Cougars are 8-0 in the Northern Lakes League after beating Bowling Green on Friday under first-year head coach Stan Joplin.

The Titans didn’t fall too much, slipping only to No. 2 after a loss Saturday vs. Michigan power Warren De La Salle Collegiate. Wauseon (D-II), TAAC leader Cardinal Stritch (D-III), and 15-1 Pettisville (D-IV) lead the rest of the Blade poll divisions.

On the girls side, there was no movement atop the rankings. Notre Dame Academy, which tightened its grip on the TRAC this week with a win vs. Whitmer, still holds the No. 1 spot in Division I, while City League leader Rogers paces D-II. Liberty-Benton has just one loss to lead the D-III rankings, and Fremont St. Joseph continues to pace D-IV.
