SLL: Woodmore pulls away in second half

PEMBERVILLE - Woodmore pulled away after a relatively tight first half in dumping Eastwood 69-46 last night.

Versatile Tyler Rosenberger and Brian Perkins, the Wildcats' chief inside threat, scored 18 points apiece for Woodmore (12-1, 8-1).

Joe Nowak added 15 points for the Wildcats, who are tied with Elmwood for first place in the Suburban Lakes League.

Kevin Leady carried the scoring load for Eastwood (6-5, 5-4) with 20 points.

Otsego 75,

Gibsonburg 67

TONTOGANY - Gibsonburg's press right off the bat worked to perfection for Otsego.

The Knights shredded the press and outscored Gibsonburg 32-17 in the first period to set the tone. The Knights hit 11 of 12 2-pointers and three of five 3-pointers, with Jordan Murphy scoring 11 of his game-high 19 in the quarter.

Casey Donald added 14 and Mark Kidd 13 for the Knights (7-5, 5-4).

Derek Wasserman led Gibsonburg (9-5, 6-3) with 18 points and Nathan Kirwen 16.

Elmwood 64, Genoa 39

BLOOMDALE - Elmwood (9-3, 8-1) rolled as Dustin Reynolds scored 16, Chad Reynolds had 15 and Eric Wansitler 11.

Anthony Robertson paced Genoa (3-10, 1-8) with 10 points.

Elmwood had a huge edge in rebounds - 43-13. Each team had 13 turnovers.

Lake 58, Lakota 56

KANSAS - Lake earned the victory with a 19-12 fourth-quarter advantage.

Rocky Garcia led the Flyers with 17, Matt Rollins had 16 and Tyler Steedman 14.

Trever Hohman paced Lakota with 19 points and Ron Diaz added 10.

Each team hit three treys and 13 free throws.

Lakota won on the boards 24-20 but committed 11 turnovers to Lake's nine.
