Holgate, Stryker win low-scoring games

NAPOLEON - It didn't take many points to win a Division IV district semifinal game last night at Napoleon High School.

Holgate topped Antwerp 45-26 and Stryker topped Hicksville 41-38.

Holgate (18-4) and Stryker (16-7) will meet here for a district title Friday night at 7.

Mitch Fowler led Antwerp (10-12) with 10.

For Stryker, Nick Lloyd scored 18 and Jacob Bernath added 15.

Nathan Headley led Hicksville (11-11) with 16 and Blayne Welling had 11.

Taking care of the ball was important in this game, too, as Hicksville won on the boards 26-14 but committed 18 turnovers to Stryker's seven.

WILLARD - Brandon Speck scored 22 points, Parker Grove had 19 and Edwin Haney 15 as Mansfield St. Peter (12-10) surprised Danbury.

Jake Fanning poured in 36 for the Lakers (19-3) and Jarret Ensign added 14.

Danbury outscored St. Pete 20-15 at the free-throw line but St. Pete hit seven treys to Danbury's four.

While Rice was scoring in close, his teammates went 2-for-24 on 3-point attempts. St. Joe hit 19 of 49 tries overall and 8 of 9 at the foul line. Lucas drops out at 11-11.

FOSTORIA - Ryan Kommick and Aaron Mass scored 20 points apiece, and Mass grabbed 11 rebounds to pace Tiffin Calvert (18-4).
