Whitmer senior running back Jody Webb has verbally committed to the University of Toledo, becoming the third member of Whitmer's state semifinal team to announce his intentions to stay home and play for the Rockets.

He joins teammates Storm Norton, an offensive lineman, and Mark Meyers, a safety.

Webb, a two-star recruit by Rivals.com, is a two-time Division I first team All Ohio selection.

Webb totaled 1,539 yards and 30 touchdowns this season in helping the Panthers to a 13-1 record and a berth in the state semifinals.

National Signing Day for seniors is Feb. 1.

UT could end up losing Meyers to a Big Ten school. Meyers told The Blade recently he visited Nebraska last weekend and has plans to visit Michigan State this upcoming weekend. Neither of those schools has offered him a scholarship.
