Rogers 49, Highland Park 8
At Rogers, Dominic Jones completed 6 of 12 passes for 228 yards and four touchdowns as the Rams quickly pulled away from Highland Park to win Friday night in the season opener.
Milton Roberts finished with three receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns for the Rams. Chris Austin had a 68-yard score and Joshua Taliaferro added another from 62 yards out.
Rogers blocked two punts for touchdowns. Darrell Coleman recovered the first in the end zone for a touchdown, and Brandon Cruz returned the other one 68 yards for a score.
Rashaan Mitchell capped the Rams’ scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run.
Dezmond Taylor returned an interception 32 yards for Highland Park’s lone touchdown.
Maumee 48, Waite 12
At Waite, Andrew Schultz ran for 187 yards on only seven carries and scored four touchdowns as the Panthers rolled to a victory.
Schultz — who ran for touchdowns of 7, 55, and 57 yards in the first quarter alone — caught one of two touchdown passes from quarterback Steve Duby, who ran for another score as Maumee led 48-0 through three quarters.
Jeff Goatley and Dominique King scored the other TDs for Maumee.
Johnny Douanglee and Cyrron Burninger scored fourth-quarter touchdowns for Waite.

Perrysburg 49, Bowsher 18
Steve Slocum and Mark Delas each scored three touchdowns as visiting Perrysburg opened its season with an impressive road victory.
Slocum scored on runs of 16, 12, and 11 yards in addition to kicking all seven extra points.
Belas ran for scores of 7, 4, and 3 yards. Kenny Zimmerman closed the scoring for Perrysburg on a seven-yard run.
