ELIDA -- Too many walks and errors and not enough clutch hitting undid Genoa today in an 8-1 loss to Bloom Carroll in a Division III regional final baseball contest.
The Comets committed six errors and walked nine. They left bases loaded without scoring a run in the third and sixth innings.
Casey Gose had three of Genoa's eight hits.
Starter Alex Hayes was pulled after 3 2/3 innings. He walked three, allowed eight hits, and hit two batters.
Bloom Carroll, making its third straight regional final appearance, led 6-0 after Seth Pazke's three-run double in the top of the fourth.
