■ DIVISION I
READ FULL: Findlay's Brown a Champ
Tyler Brown considered himself an underdog all season. His resume prior to this year maybe revealed as much. He had never won a state track and field title or had been a serious contender. However, the Findlay senior put together a stellar performance at the Division I state meet Saturday before an announced crowd of 14,831 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Brown walked away with two state titles after competing in three individual events, and claimed two school records in the process.

■ DIVISION II
READ FULL: Butler, Truckor win titles

lthough she's just a freshman, Liberty-Benton's Michaela Butler admitted she was disappointed in her runner-up finish in the 100-meter dash on Saturday at the Division II state track and field meet. So just a little over an hour later, the talented young sprinter raced home to a state title in the 200.

In the second event of the day at Jesse Owens Stadium, Butler took second place in the 100 with a time of 12.03 seconds.

 

■ DIVISION III

Toledo Christian senior Delainey Phelps closed out her high school career the right way during the Division III state track championships Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus. Phelps became a state champion in the 3200 meters with a personal-record time of 10 minutes, 51.68 seconds. She shattered her previous personal best of 11:16 en route to earning the first-place medal.
