Bobcats blank Eagles; Golkiewicz leads Bulldogs

OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. — John Reditt was 9 of 13 for 150 yards and a 22-yard scoring strike to Troy Diller to lead Whiteford (2-0).

Colin Lake scored on 22-yard and four-yard runs. Cody Kiefer ran 46 yards for a TD, and Zach Perry ran for a five-yard score for the Bobcats

The Bobcats dominated statistically, compiling 18 first downs to 11 for Mason, and totaling 373 yards to 178 for the Eagles (0-2).

Summerfield 35, Ida 14

PETERSBURG, Mich. — Josh Golkiewicz ran for three touchdowns and caught another to lead the Bulldogs (2-0).

Golkiewicz rushed for first-half scores of 8, 5 and 39 yards, then continued his big night in the third quarter as quarterback Zach Philipp connected with the senior for an 11-yard touchdown pass.

Philipp also threw a four-yard TD pass to Brennan Kosarue in the second quarter.

Junior linebacker Cole Bischoff anchored Summerfield’s defense with eight tackles and two forced fumbles — both of which the Bulldogs recovered.

Ida (1-1) got a two-yard touchdown run from Eric Bugg and a 53-yard TD run from Caleb Yeary.
