Flyers go to 3-0 with rout of Green Bears

Lake 55, Ottawa Hills 6

MILLBURY — Jared Rettig threw three touchdowns passes and ran for another as the Flyers quickly pulled away Friday night with a 34-point first quarter.

Rettig completed 5 of 9 passes for 126 yards for the Flyers (3-0), who ran 30 times for 207 yards. The TD strikes went to Todd Walters (23 yards), Brandon Short (19 yards), and Adam Duncan (47 yards), who also scored the game’s first TD with an 89-yard kickoff return.

Walters returned an interception 28 yards for a TD. Marcel Bryan added a 12-yard TD run, and Dustin Perkins scored on a 17-yard run.

Ottawa Hills (0-3) — held to 49 yards on 34 carries — scored its lone touchdown on a 68-yard pass from Austin Stevens to Jack Wollenberg.

 

Eastwood 56, Oak Harbor 7

PEMBERVILLE — The Eagles rolled up 321 yards rushing on 41 attempts in a game they led 35-7 at halftime.

Michael Flipse, who also scored on a 38-yard pass from Jake Schmeltz, began the rout with a 60-yard punt return for a score. Grant Geiser’s 31-yard run and Devin Snowden’s 48-yard run pushed the lead to 21-0.

Eastwood dominated total yardage 405-195. Snowden had 10 carries for 93 yards.

Brent Schlumbohm scored on TD runs of three and four yards, Zach Thompson added a one-yard scoring plunge. Brennan Seifert scored on a 46-yard run.

Oak Harbor scored on an 82-yard run Cole Weirich.

 

North Baltimore 26, Elmwood 20

BLOOMDALE — The Tigers jumped out to a 14-0 lead and then held off the Royals.

Quarterback Lane Bishop completed 15 of 23 passes for 261 yards and three scores. He rushed for 143 yards and scored the decisive TD on a 15-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Bishop connected on TD paseds with Taylor Bishop (31 yards), Sean Watson (15), and Brandon Solly (72). Solly had five catches for 153 yards.

Austin Isaacs led Elmwood (0-3) with 182 rushing yards and scored on runs of 7 and 2 yards.

The Royals' Justin Krouse intercepted a pass and returned it 56 yards to tie the game at 20 in the third quarter.

North Baltimore (2-1) had 404 yards of offense, while Elmwood finished with 293 (237 rushing).

 

Genoa 84, Port Clinton 13

PORT CLINTON — Genoa (3-0) rushed for 533 yards on 53 carries in an easy road win.

Jake Wojciechowski led the Comets with 181 yards and two touchdowns from 80 and 77 yards out.

Casey Gose and Logan Scott each added two rushing touchdowns.

Gose ran in from 66 and 16 yards out, while Scott plunged in from 12 and one yard out.

David Nutter and Ryan Espinoza scored once on the ground.

Cody Pickard kicked two field goals, Solomon Mutchler returned a kick for a touchdown, Alex Hayes returned an interception for a score and Gose added a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Emerson Lowe caught two touchdowns from Jesse Escobedo for Port Clinton's only scores.

Escobedo passed for 140 yards and Lowe piled up 147 receiving yards.
