State tournaments will be held for Division I golf this weekend in Columbus.

St. John’s Jesuit heads to state after capturing a district title with Jack Mancinotti, Luke Campbell, Jack Meredith, Tommy Sullinger, and Nicholas Graf combining for a score of 319 at Red Hawk Run in Findlay.

“It’s something we’ve been working for all year long,” Titans coach Mussa Orra said. “We know the competition will be pretty tough. We know we’ll have to put up a good score both days to compete.”

Findlay’s Spencer Shoemaker, Trevor St. Jean, Jarrett Oanrud, Sam Griffith, and Alex Shoemaker scored a 320 to place second at district.

Maumee’s Mitchell Kontak, the district champion after shooting a 71, and Bowling Green’s Trey Walker qualified as individuals.

In the girls competition, St. Ursula advanced by winning a district crown at Stone Ridge in Bowling Green.

Lizzie Win, Kathryn Young, Monica Torda, Jessica Antypas, and Emily Antypas combined for a 324. Winn, a sophomore, was the district medalist with a 74.

Anthony Wayne’s Maria Connelly and Northview’s Ashley Knight earned trips to state as individuals.
