BLADE STAFF

OBJECT13a37495-1fb3-42af-8612-b9e1bad39e4bLocal teams played the 10th and final game of their regular season. While some controlled their own destiny for postseason play, others waited for results beyond their control. Here's a roundup of the all the Week 10 action.

Yellow Jackets maul Panthers, take outright NLL crown

Perrysburg blasted Maumee 50-7 Friday night to finish a perfect Northern Lakes League season and win an outright championship Friday night. The student section rushed the field after the last snap as players dragged around the Ding-Dong Trophy given to the winner of the rivalry.

Rebels capture 2nd straight City League title

Bowsher jumped out to a 30-0 halftime advantage en route to a 46-0 drubbing of Start before a Rebels home crowd. "It's been a great season and now we sit and wait to see if the football gods try to get the playoffs our way," Bowsher coach Craig Lubinski said. "It's been a great season and this [league championship] has been one of our goals for this year. The kids came to play tonight."

Mules stay unbeaten with playoff win

Bedford was a model of football efficiency Friday night, grinding out 335 yards of offense and scoring one touchdown in each quarter in taking a 28-6 victory over visiting Westland John Glenn in a Michigan Division 1 first-round playoff game.

Bobcats start fast, roll to playoff win

The Whiteford football team expected its first playoff game to be a battle Friday night. But a combination of opponent injuries, a fast start, and a physical style of play allowed the Bobcats to enjoy a 59-6 romp over Sterling Heights Parkway Christian in a Michigan Division 8 first-round playoff game.

Southview dominates Northview in battle of Sylvania

Southview scored on the first play of the game Friday night at Cats Stadium and rolled over rival Northview. The Cougars’ Keith Gilmore returned the opening kick 100 yards for a score and Southview never looked back in a 40-0 shutout.
