Irish cap title with 10-0 regular season

Central Catholic 60, Clay 13

DeShone Kizer threw three touchdown passes and ran for another Friday night as the visiting Irish claimed their first outright Three Rivers Athletic Conference title.

Kizer completed 9 of 14 passes for 210 yards including TD passes to Marcus Winters (35 and 68 yards) and Derich Weiland (24 yards).

Ryan Roberts returned a fumble recovery 55 yards for a TD. Tre’von Wade had TD runs of 7 and 10 yards. Jordan Parker (two yards) and Charles Smith (six yards) had TD runs.

The Irish (10-0, 7-0 TRAC) forced five turnovers by the Eagles (2-8, 0-7).

Clay’s Kyle Row had 10 catches for 176 yards and two TD receptions (17 and 18 yards) from Josh Pennington.

 

Whitmer 83, Lima Senior 28

LIMA — The Panthers racked up a season-high 661 yards and 83 points to earn the road victory.

Trace Bodeman ran for 202 yards and two TDs on 15 carries, Keenan Baker added 116 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries, and Jamal Bell ran for 65 yards and three touchdowns on only four attempts as Whitmer (6-4, 5-2 TRAC) led 49-15 at halftime thanks to a 35-point second quarter.

Larry Patterson scored two TDs for the Panthers, while Tylor Schneider and Shue Sanders both added one. Whitmer’s lone TD pass came on Matt Winzeler’s 67-yard strike to Chris Boykin.

Demontay Liles scored on an 86-yard kickoff return and a 30-yard run for the Spartans (5-5, 4-3), who committed four turnovers and tallied 258 yards of offense.

 

St. Francis 28, Findlay 17

FINDLAY — David Nees rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns and completed 15 of 18 passes for 134 yards and two TDs for the Knights.

Nees threw scoring passes of eight yards to Lamar Carswell and 25 yards to Andrew Bonfiglio.

St. Francis (6-1, 8-2) intercepted three Findlay passes.

For the Trojans (1-6, 2-8), Austin Gutting scored on a four-yard run and a two-yard pass reception.

Grant Niswander threw for 184 yards and ran for 87.

Fremont Ross 28,St. John’s 7

The Little Giants (5-5, 3-4) secured the road victory as Hunter Trautwein rushed 27 times for 104 yards and scored on runs of two and three yards.

Jordan Slick completed 8 of 15 passes for 84 yards and a 29-yard TD strike to Devin Benson. Jeffrey Barnett ran 22 yards for a TD.

The Titans (2-8, 2-5) suffered three interceptions and a fumble.

Joe Pool caught a 17-yard TD pass from Dick Anderson. Collin Korte ran 12 times for 95 yards.
