Northview edges Start on road; St. Ursula tops Woodward

Waite 67, Shaker Heights Laurel 63

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — Ramiah Henry hit a shot with less than 15 seconds left to send the game into overtime and Latesha Craig scored six points in OT as the Indians held on for a win.

Waite outscored Laurel 10-6 in the extra period.

Craig had 22 points in the game and grabbed 15 rebounds. Taylor Works added 18 points and Henry finished the game with 11 points.

Nicole Felice paced Laurel with 31 points, while Abbey Chiniel had 13 points.

 

Northview 54, Start 42

Kendall McCoy and Kendall Jessing recorded double-doubles as Northview (2-0) won on the road.

McCoy notched 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Jessing had 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Quasia Turner led Start (1-1) with 14 points.

 

St. Ursula 52, Woodward 35

St. Ursula trailed 10-8 after the first quarter, but took control with a 17-7 second quarter edge and held on to win on the road.

Megan Burns paced St. Ursula with 22 points and Marge Rode added 10.

K'Shawna Barnett led Woodward with 18 points.

 

Notre Dame 56, Dublin Coffman 48

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio — Kaayla McIntyre scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Notre Dame won in the Gary West Tip Off Classic.

Mariah Copeland added 12 points for the Eagles.

Kamerine Taylor tallied 25 points for Dublin Coffman.

 

Elida 57, Findlay 51

LIMA — Sabrina Kline scored 19 points to lead Elida (1-1) to a win in the Kewpee Tip Off Classic at Lima Bath High School.

Torie McAdams added 10 points for Elida.

Sarah Thomas scored 17 points and Zoe Swisher had 12 for Findlay (0-2).

 

Port Clinton 68, Woodmore 39

ELMORE — Port Clinton jumped out to a 15-5 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

Emily Ashley led the way for the Redskins (1-1) with 22 points. Hope Thorbahn added 16 points and Hannah Weaver had 13 points.

Allie Wank tallied 14 points for Woodmore (0-2) and Mackenzie Johnson had 12.

 

Fremont St. Joseph 59, Cardinal Stritch 47

Josie Weickert scored 23 points to lead Fremont St. Joseph to a road win.

Ashley Burns added 20 points, and Laura Baez had 12 for the Streaks (1-1).

CeCe Gozdowski led Cardinal Stritch (0-1) with 16 points.

 

Evergreen 44, Springfield 38

METAMORA — The Vikings used a 17-10 advantage in the fourth quarter to pull away from Springfield.

Haili Mossing poured in 20 points for Evergreen (2-0), while Carly Truckor added 12 points.

Natalie Yoder paced Springfield (1-1) with 16 points, and Asia Goowin scored 12 points.

 

Lake 66, Northwood 36

MILLBURY — A 28-point second quarter allowed Lake to run away with a win.

Jordyn Taylor paced the Flyers with 17 points, while Summer Woodruff added 14 points and Catie Phalen had 11 points.

Doma Cruz and Allison Roach led the way for Northwood with nine points each.
