Blue Devils hold off Generals’ rally

Kontak scores 20 lead Maumee victory

Springfield 47, Anthony Wayne 45

Springfield led 24-19 at halftime and hung on Friday night in Northern Lakes League boys basketball.

The Generals outscored the Blue Devils 20-16 in the final quarter, but couldn't come up with the game-tying shot on a possession with under 10 seconds left.

Mason Durden led the Blue Devils (7-2, 4-1 NLL) with 15 points.

Matt Fox paced Anthony Wayne (5-2, 4-1) with 16 points.

Maumee 72, Bowling Green 63

Mitchell Kontak scored 20 points to lead the Panthers at home.

Brendan Callahan tallied 17 or Maumee (2-7, 2-3), which also got 12 from Louie Mauro and 10 from Brian Utter.

La’Monte Stone led the Bobcats (2-8, 1-4) with 23. Aidan Markey added 11 points and Trent Hinton 10.

Northview 47, Napoleon 36

Northview (2-7, 1-4) dominated the third quarter by a 17-9 margin to come away with the home win.

Aerin West led the winners with 11 points and Adam Downing added 10.

Blake Dunbar topped Napoleon (5-6, 1-4) with 11. Zach Willeman added 10.
