This week’s featured home, 26304 Stillwater Drive, has an impressive pedigree. It is located in Emerald Lakes, a growing Perrysburg Township neighborhood close to Crossroads of America shopping. The home was designed and crafted by Brian McCarthy, one of the area’s top builders.

The home has a red brick exterior with taupe accents. Split, arched windows at the front are flanked by shutters. A poured concrete drive and walkway lead to the home, where the covered front porch keeps guests out of the weather.

The sidelighted front door opens to the foyer. The very tall ceiling makes a great first impression, as does the slate-look tile floor.

To the left is a bedroom, shown here as an office. It is served by a double closet. A full bath with a white vanity and cultured marble top is convenient to this room.

Single-story villa homes are very popular these days, with good reason. They offer living all on one floor, a boon for older adults and those with disabilities. An open and airy interior makes cleaning easier.

Our featured home is a stylish villa, with a difference.  A staircase off the foyer, featuring wrought iron birdcage balusters, rises to a second floor loft area. This extra space makes an ideal office, or it can be used as a home gym, a playroom, or even a craft room.

The foyer ends in the impressive great room.  One’s eye is immediately drawn to the high coffered ceiling. A large window, topped by a transom, affords a wonderful view of the lake. Yes, this is waterfont property!

The kitchen, with its dark chocolate cabinets, is open to the great room.  A peninsula snack bar, like all the countertops in this kitchen, is topped with a luxurious granite and lit from above by pendant lights. Stylish brushed nickel hardware and stainless appliances gleam against the dark wood. A pantry here offers additional storage.

The dining area includes space for a large table, chairs and a hutch.

A sunroom nearby is set apart by an arched entryway, flanked by pillars. The vaulted ceiling’s fan turns lazily, offering a pleasant breeze. Windows all around the room offer another water view. A door opens to the poured concrete patio, where one may enjoy the sound of the lake’s dramatic fountain.

Off the great room, the master bedroom boasts a deep tray ceiling with fan. This generously proportioned room is large enough for a king bed, a dresser, an armoire, and bedside tables. Shown here with a queen bed, the room also offers a view of the lake through large windows.

The master bathroom has a large vanity with plenty of storage space. White wood is topped with white cultured marble for a clean look. The step-in shower has two seats, and a huge walk-in closet provides even more storage.

A fountain aerates the lake and offers a sound of rushing water. A deep tray ceiling and view of the lake make the bedroom quite romantic.

A back hall off the kitchen leads to a third bedroom, which has its own double closet. Also in this area are a laundry room, a coat closet, and access to the two car garage. The garage is well insulated and finished with painted walls. It contains pull-down stairs to an attic.

Emerald Lakes is a “friendly sized” community, according to Mr. McCarthy. An active homeowners association is involved in managing the neighborhood, and the low monthly fee covers snow removal, lawn mowing and fertilization, the sprinkler system and maintenance of common areas. Each home comes with a one-year warranty and is Energy Star rated.

The villas in Emerald Lakes are priced from the $150s, including lot. Our featured home, 26304 Stillwater Drive, begins at $179,900. Stop by the model during a special Open House this Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Emerald Lakes is located off Eckel Junction Road between Thompson Road and Louisiana Avenue. For a private tour at your convenience, contact Joyce Allen at 419-360-1534.
