This week’s featured home, by award-winning McCarthy Builders, is in a neighborhood that is growing – in popularity and in homes. McCarthy has been in business since 1988, and is a leader in the development and building of villa communities.

This gorgeous home, located at 6915 Southpine Court, offers so much. There are lovely family areas – the great room, open to the kitchen and dining spaces, as well as the relaxing sunroom – with clear views and lovely natural lighting. There are also quiet places to get away from it all.

The exterior is tan vinyl with stone accents. A white front door with a sidelight opens to the welcoming foyer. A brushed nickel bowl light overhead and tile underfoot complete this impressive en-trance to the home.

To the right is the first of three bedrooms. Equipped with a double closet, the room is adjacent to a full bath, where a white vanity with a white cultured marble top provides storage.

Off the foyer is the staircase to the loft. Wrought iron balustrades with a birdcage design offer visual interest. The loft’s open space, built under the eaves of the home, can be used for extra storage, or as a playroom, an exercise room, a guest room, a craft room, an office, or even a media room.

The foyer opens to the great room, where a gas fireplace with a raised hearth is the focal point of the room. With tall windows on either side and a granite surround, it makes a dramatic statement. A white mantel with dentil molding gives this a classic air. An eyeball light above will illuminate your artwork.

To the left of the great room is the open kitchen. A large kitchen island is faced with white beadboard and topped with high-definition laminate. The sink is located here, making a perfect work triangle with the stainless range and refrigerator. Cabinets are stained a deep espresso color, and a pantry provides extra storage space.

The dining area is adjacent, and beyond, the sunroom is framed by an archway and pillars – a hallmark of McCarthy homes. The vaulted ceiling with fan makes this room a comfortable space for reading or conversation, and windows on three walls of the room provide a view. A door here opens to the poured concrete patio.

Off the kitchen is the third of three bedrooms, as well as the laundry room, a coat closet, and the two-car garage. Pull down stairs in the garage lead to a floored attic.

On the other side of the great room is the master suite. The space is made more striking by its deep tray ceiling. The ensuite bath includes a white vanity with a white cultured marble top, a step-in shower, and a generous walk-in closet.
