Unions lose if they don't change

3/16/2010

With jobs at risk, taxpayers are tired of constant levies and unions' unwillingness to change their tired ways.

The solution for a solvent Toledo is for teachers, police, and fire unions to abandon the antiquated pension system and move forward with 401(k) programs.

This would eliminate a burden from the city and put the unions in tune with everyone else. Every company that adopted this program has saved jobs.

Public unions cannot keep asking for money from people who have no jobs. They are asking to be paid more than the taxpayers who fund them. There are two choices: Change or lose your jobs in a state takeover.
