Brunner right to shield victims

3/17/2010

In her March 2 op-ed column, “Ohio must do more for victims of domestic violence,” Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner called for a law prohibiting victims' voting information from being accessed by their abusers.

Ohio's rates of domestic violence are obscene, and our support for victims counts among the poorest in the nation.

Funding for shelters and services is rapidly dropping as more people desperately need them.

Wood County has seen a rise in demand for such services.

I am thankful that Ms. Brunner feels a moral obligation to do something.
