The Blade needs to end its constant attacks on Perrysburg city officials’ decision to dump the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (“Transit troubles,” editorial, Feb. 16).
Your call for replacing Perrysburg City Council is wrong. Council represents the people who have said no loud and clear on all recent issues relative to TARTA.
Perrysburg voters even said no to the recent alternative transportation plan. Council is putting the issue back on the ballot at a lesser cost. There is no reason to elect a new council, because no should mean no.
The solution is for TARTA to replace its administration and hire a team that is capable of making regional transportation attractive.
Member communities have been voting less support of TARTA levies. TARTA has not added a new member community since 1974; obviously something is wrong.
Joining TARTA should not be dictated by intimidation or by you. TARTA should offer services that all communities would welcome.

Death by droneis troubling
The morally and ethically superior Obama Administration says it’s OK to kill U.S. citizens without a trial and without the reading of Miranda rights, just by firing a missile from a drone (“Reason to target,” editorial, Feb. 8).
Does that mean it’s OK to pour water on the face of a terrorist as long as the water is dropped from a drone?

Where’s Obama’s apology to Bush?
President Obama was self-righteous when George W. Bush used enhanced interrogation techniques against terrorists to keep America safe. Now he has shredded the Constitution and uses drones to kill American citizens who have turned on their country.
Where is the outrage of the media and Democrats? Where is the apology to former President Bush?

Pope would agree with George
Your Feb. 22 edition had a “thought for today” from President George Washington: “It is infinitely better to have a few good men than many indifferent ones.”
The same edition had an op-ed column by Frank Bruni on the Catholic Church: “U.S. Catholics muffle Pope’s voice.”
I don’t know whether the Pope had a chance to read it, but undoubtedly the Pope would agree with George Washington.
