Blade letter writer Craigh Boehk would like to see special prosecutor Robert Mueller's investigation in alleged Russian meddling dismissed.

President Donald Trump has been in office one year and, for much of that year, all we have heard about is the alleged Russian meddling in the election. It is time these people quit wasting taxpayers money and time on this issue. The federal governments needs to put its time and money toward helping this country and its citizens.

I’m sick of hearing nothing but Russia while receiving no tangible proof that any wrongdoing has occurred, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Without more substantial proof, this investigation needs to be put to bed. Then work on projects beneficial to all Americans can truly begin.

Southwyck’s forward progress

I was quite impressed to see such quick action taken as a result of the sale the two derelict properties located on Southwyck Boulevard last recently (Jan. 22, “Toledo firm buys 2 buildings near Southwyck mall site”). I saw landscapers busily trimming and removing the overgrowth of trees and shrubs as a result of years of neglect at the 5355 Southwyck property.

Let’s hope that this “forward progress” continues, not only on these two buildings, but that it also sends a strong message to the other dozen or so property owners — clean up your act (and property).

The greatest library on earth

From a recent Blade article (Jan. 27, “Library reaches out to elderly”), I learned for the first time that the Toledo Lucas County Public Library visits health facilities and nursing sites. If only the printed word could carry the tone and volume of my voice: The Toledo Lucas County Public Library is the greatest library on earth.

I’ve always known this, but The Blade’s article is the proof. Thank you to Clyde Scoles and all the management and employees of our beloved library.
