Marathon Classic dates set 2014 tourney

The Marathon Classic Presented by Owens Corning & O-I announced Wednesday that next year’s tournament will be held July 14-20 at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania. The Golf Channel will provide live coverage from 3–5 p.m. of all four rounds.

The tournament also announced that this year’s Marathon Classic produced the fourth highest final round viewership for an LPGA event over the past five years.

“We were absolutely thrilled with the viewership ratings for this year’s tournament,” said Judd Silverman, tournament director.

“The four days of live coverage on the Golf Channel provided tremendous domestic and global exposure for northwest Ohio and our sponsors.”

Beatriz Recari of Spain is scheduled to return to defend her title.
