DAYTON, Ohio Officials at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base say four airmen taking part in an outdoor training exercise were taken to hospitals after being overcome by the heat.

Base spokeswoman Libby Van Hook says two of the four were treated and released and the other two were being evaluated.

About 250 airmen were taking part in the field exercise near Dayton on Thursday, which involved doing drills in battle gear. Van Hook said the exercise was suspended after the airmen were overcome by heat.

She say four airmen were also overcome by heat during the exercise Wednesday. They were treated and released.
