FREMONT — Debra Hellman has been named the first director of the joint Sandusky and Wood counties American Red Cross.
Mrs. Hellman was appointed to the position Sept. 16. The previous Sandusky County director, John Bailey, retired in April. The Wood County position was most recently occupied by Christine Diefenthaler, who recently accepted the position of major gifts officer with the regional Red Cross chapter.
Mrs. Hellman, who lives in Fremont with her husband and two children, owns WAMH Design LLC, a web and print design company in Fremont.
She serves as the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce chairman; in 2012 she was the Downtown Business Association Promotions Committee chairman, and a Leadership Sandusky County board member.
