Mrs. Hellman was appointed to the position Sept. 16. The previous Sandusky County director, John Bailey, retired in April. The Wood County position was most recently occupied by Christine Diefenthaler, who recently accepted the position of major gifts officer with the regional Red Cross chapter.

She serves as the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce chairman; in 2012 she was the Downtown Business Association Promotions Committee chairman, and a Leadership Sandusky County board member.
