Medication disposal sites open Saturday

Area residents can dispose of unused pharmaceuticals during the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency’s National Drug Take Back Initiative from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Lucas County Sheriff’s deputies and Drug Enforcement Agency officials will be at drop-off stations located throughout Toledo and the county.

Medications will be taken without charge and no questions will be asked.

The purpose of the program is to provide a venue for disposing of unwanted and unused prescription drugs to keep them from getting into the hands of children and to discourage disposing medications into sewer systems.

Unused, unwanted, or expired medications can be dropped off at:

● Lucas County Health Department, 635 N. Erie St.

● Washington Township Fire Department, 2469 Shoreland Dr.

● Monclova Township Fire Department, 4395 Albon Rd.

● Providence Township Fire Department, 8149 Main St. Neapolis.

● Springfield Township Fire Department, 7145 Garden Rd.

● Waterville Fire Department, 751 Waterville Monclova Rd.

● Whitehouse Fire Department, 10550 Waterville St.

● Sylvania Police Department, 6635 Maplewood Ave.

● Sylvania Township Police Department, 4420 King Rd.

● St. Luke’s Hospital, (Entrance Yellow 3) 5901 Monclova Rd.

● Ottawa Hills Police Department, 2125 Richards Rd.

● Oregon Police Department garage, 5330 Seaman Rd.
