New mental health program seeks clinician
2/13/2014BOWLING GREEN — A licensed clinician is to be hired and assigned full-time to Wood County Juvenile Court to assess, screen, and assist families and detained youth with mental health issues.
The court — in partnership with the Children’s Resource Center, the Wood County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services, Bowling Green State University, and the Wood County Family and Children First Council — has been awarded a $208,213 state grant to implement a program called “Project Assess, Address, and Achieve.”
Through the Behavioral Juvenile Justice Grant, the court and the agencies plan to work together to assist juveniles with serious mental illness and their families with the juvenile justice system.
