The Sylvania Community Action Team hosts a drug take-back day in conjunction with the Sylvania City and Township Police Departments on Saturday.

The prescription medication drop-off will take place on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the township police, 4420 King Rd., and city police, 6635 Maplewood Ave., will collect medication. The initiative aims to protect families, children, and the environment from exposure to prescription or unwanted drugs.

Accepted drugs and medication are narcotics, over-the-counter medication, pet medication, and vitamins. Syringes, inhalers, liquids, ointments, and medicine from commercial vendors will not be accepted.

All medicines should be loose from packaging or bottles, and can be brought in plastic or paper bags. For more information about drug prevention or take back programs, contact SCAT at 419-824-8588, or visit sylvaniascat.org.
