UTMC to open center for mental-health issues
6/9/2014The University of Toledo Medical Center will open a center Tuesday that focuses on treating mental and behavioral health issues in adult patients 55 years and older.
UTMC, formerly the Medical College of Ohio, has joined Horizon Health Services to operate the Senior Behavioral Health Center in the Kobacker Center.
The 18-bed facility will accept patients 24 hours a day.
Referrals can be made by anyone, including physicians, psychologists, social workers, and family members.
The center staff also is available to present mental-health educational programs in the community free of charge.
