UTMC receives accreditation status
8/17/2014A University of Toledo Medical Center program that provides training for surgeons has received accreditation status as an American College of Surgeons Educational Institute.
UTMC, the former Medical College of Ohio, Hospital’s Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center provides surgeons an opportunity to learn and practice skills, and receive feedback without compromising patient safety or comfort. This accreditation status for the simulation center will allow UTMC to provide workshops for surgeons, physician assistants, and surgical nurses.
A team of reviewers from the American College of Surgeons conducted an on-site survey as part of the accreditation process.
The accreditation program is voluntary, and certified institutes are accredited for three years.
