TEMPERANCE - Three Michigan men were arrested yesterday along Douglas Road near I-475 in Toledo about 15 minutes after they allegedly robbed the Marathon gas station on Lewis Avenue in Temperance, Monroe County sheriff's deputies said.

Joshua Kress, 23, of St. Johns, Mich., and Jahred Sanborn, 23, and Christopher Hansen, 25, both of Alma, Mich., were being held yesterday in the Lucas County jail awaiting extradition to Michigan to face robbery charges, authorities said.

One of the men walked into the gas station's convenience store about 12:30 a.m. with a handgun and demanded cash from the attendant. The suspect then fled toward Ohio in a black BMW. Monroe County authorities asked Toledo police to look for the vehicle, deputies said.

Toledo police spotted the car southbound on Douglas a few minutes later. As the car stopped, one of the officers spotted an arm hanging out the passenger window, throwing out a 22-caliber handgun that authorities believe was used in the robbery.
