Migrant worker stabbed to death during quarrel

DUNDEE, Mich. — The Monroe County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fight that ended with a migrant worker from Mexico being stabbed to death.

Nicolas Lara-Vasquez, 47, of Mexico City, was pronounced dead at a farmhouse in the 19000 block of Brewer Road in Dundee Township at 2 a.m. Saturday. According to the sheriff's department, Mr. Vasquez and a 41-year-old man were involved in a quarrel at the house that ended with both suffering stab wounds.

Authorities would not identify the second man, who was treated at Mercy Memorial Hospital. No charges had been filed yesterday.

The sheriff's department said about 15 adults live at the house, which is being used to house migrant workers.
