UM outlasts Notre Dame
9/11/2010SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Denard Robinson was even better in his second career start, as the University of Michigan quarterback bailed out the Wolverines several times Saturday in their 28-24 win at Notre Dame.
Robinson conducted a game-winning drive which he finished with a 2-yard touchdown run with 27 seconds left. Unofficially, Robinson finished with a Big Ten record 258 yards on 28 rushing attempts. His 87-yard yard touchdown run in the second quarter was the second longest run ever allowed by Notre Dame, and the longest in Notre Dame Stadium history.
Notre Dame went ahead 24-21 with 3:41 to go when Kyle Rudolph freed himself behind UM's secondary and hauled in a 95-yard catch and run from Dayne Crist.
Crist led ND to a touchdown on its first drive of the game but did not return to action until the third quarter because of complications with his eye.
