Michigan falls to Louisville 82-76

ATLANTA - Trey Burke scored a game-high 24 points for the Michigan men's basketball team, but the Wolverines fell to Louisville 82-76 in the national championship game tonight at the Georgia Dome.

Luke Hancock led the Cardinals (35-5) with 22 points, and went 5 for 5 on 3-pointers, including 4 for 4 in the first half. Michigan guard Spike Albrecht came off the bench and also went 4 for 4 from behind the arc in the first half, finishing with 17 points for the Wolverines (31-8).

Louisville won its first national championship in men's basketball since 1986, and Cardinals coach Rick Pitino won his second NCAA title at two schools - he led Kentucky to the 1996 national championship.
