■ Notes: Michigan makes its first visit to New England since 1995, when Boston College hosted the Wolverines. … In last week’s 32-21 loss to Maryland, Connecticut finished with 34 yards on 33 carries. Its leading rusher, Lyle McCombs, finished with 53 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, but quarterback Chandler Whitmer had a combined loss of 36 yards on eight carries. Whitmer is averaging 277.5 yards passing for UConn and had 349 yards against Maryland. …UM receiver Jeremy Gallon has at least one catch in 29 consecutive games, and has had at least four catches in his last eight games. Gallon leads the Wolverines with 18 catches for 297 yards and four TDs. … While Michigan has allowed its first three opponents an average of 89.6 rushing yards, Central Michigan, Notre Dame, and Akron accrued 769 passing yards. … Today’s game at Rentschler Field in East Hartford is a sellout, and UConn expects it to be the largest crowd in the stadium’s history, as temporary seating is being added to the facility, which has a capacity of 40,000.
