Michigan football coach Brady Hoke shuffles defensive staff in preparation for upcoming season

ANN ARBOR -- Michigan announced tonight that football coach Brady Hoke has shuffled his defensive staff in preparation for the upcoming season.

The personnel remain the same but have different responsibilities. Defensive coordinator Greg Mattison will work with the linebackers. Roy Manning moves from coaching the outside linebackers to coaching the cornerbacks. Mark Smith will coach the defensive line after coaching the inside linebackers last season. Curt Mallory will coach the safeties after coaching the defensive backs last season.

Michigan also announced that there will be no changes to Hoke's offensive staff.

Michigan opens spring practices Tuesday, and the spring game is April 5 at Michigan Stadium.
