Some scenes in an upcoming feature film about the Toledo Troopers, Perfect Season, will be shot at Cats Stadium in Sylvania, the project’s lead writer said Friday.

Guy Stout, one of two writers and son of former Toledo Troopers owner-coach Bill Stout, said an agreement was reached that day between Sylvania school officials and the film's producer-director, Brett Leonard, for cross-promoting the movie with Sylvania schools’ efforts to raise money for a new stadium.

The Troopers played most of their home games at Waite High School in East Toledo, but played at the Sylvania stadium in 1971 and 1972, Mr. Stout said.

The film is being made to honor the team, which won seven consecutive national championships during the 1970s. The team is credited for raising the profile of women in competitive sports usually associated with men.
