Mud Hens broadcaster Jim Weber has been chosen to enter the International League’s Hall of Fame, the league announced early today.

Weber was honored late last season for broadcasting his 5,000th consecutive Mud Hens game, believed to be the longest string of consecutive game broadcasts in baseball history.

Joining Weber in this year’s IL Hall of Fame class are Jeff Manto, the 1994 league MVP who played for seven different teams from 1992-2000, and Dave Miley, a two-time IL manager of the year who has won more than 1,000 games in the IL.

The International League Hall of Fame was established in 1947 but was dormant from 1964 until 2008. Each year the living Hall of Famers, along with long-time league executives, broadcasters and media, conduct a vote in which the top three vote-getters who are named on a majority of ballots are chosen for induction.
