The Mud Hens will take one last look at their championship 2005 campaign when they open the new season at Fifth Third Field April 6-9 against Charlotte.

The Hens will host the Knights on Thursday, April 6 starting at 5:30 p.m. Before the contest, returning players from last season will raise the 2005 Governors' Cup banner on the home run terrace in right field. The club also will unveil a 2005 pennant on the club level facade.

Two bands will perform after the contest - Dave Carpenter and the Jaeglers will perform on the suite level, while 56 Daze will perform in the "Coop-a-Cabana" underneath The Roost in right field.

The Mud Hens will present returning players with 2005 championship rings before the game on Friday, April 7. A total of 2,000 replica championship rings also will be handed out in a random lottery at the game, which starts at 7 p.m.

The team also will hold a lottery at its Saturday, April 8 contest, which starts at 7 p.m. Two thousand fans will receive a replica of the Governors' Cup, the trophy awarded to the International League's playoff champion.

The Mud Hens will hold their first two postgame firework events of the season following the Friday and Saturday games.

On Sunday, April 9 the Mud Hens will give 2005 Championship Moments card strips to 5,000 children. A pair of returning Hens will sign autographs before the game, and children will be allowed to run the bases following the 2 p.m. contest.

The Governors' Cup will be on display in the lower concourse behind home plate all four days, and the team will present a highlight video from the 2005 season on the scoreboard before each contest.

The team also will give away 2006 magnetic schedules after each contest.
