Alfredo Figaro and the Mud Hen bullpen held Norfolk in check to lead Toledo to a 5-1 victory over the Tides at Fifth Third Field Sunday night.

Figaro allowed just eight hits and one earned run in 7 1/3 innings for his third consecutive strong start. Daniel Schlereth came on in the eighth with the tying run just 90 feet away from scoring and stranded that runner at third. And Jay Sborz threw a perfect ninth, striking out one hitter, to close out the win.

The Hens got a solo home run from Jeff Frazier in the fourth, scored an unearned run in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie, and got a three-run homer from Casper Wells in the eighth to break the game open.

After the game Sborz learned that he was being called up to Detroit to join the Tigers when they began a series in New York against the Mets Tuesday.

Sborz will take the roster spot of Rick Porcello, a starter who won 14 games for Detroit last season. The 21-year-old right-hander is expected to start for the Hens Thursday in the final game of their four-game series at Louisville.

The crowd of 10,300 for last night's contest was the Hens' fourth sellout in as many nights and 12th this season. It also was the 250th sellout in the nine-year history of Fifth Third Field.
