LOUISVILLE -- The Mud Hens won their fifth game in a row on Thursday night as they crushed Louisville 10-4.
Toledo improved to 9-5 after a 1-4 start to the season.
The Mud Hens struck for three runs in the first inning before adding four more in the fifth to take an insurmountable 7-0 lead.
First baseman Ryan Strieby finished with three runs batted in. Strieby hit a two-run home run in the first inning to get the Hens rolling.
Catcher Bryan Holaday went 2 for 4 with three RBIs.
Designated hitter Brad Eldred smacked his eighth home run of the season and drove in two runs.
Third baseman Audy Ciriaco went 3 for 5 with a double and a run scored.
Left fielder Jerad Head scored three runs, while shortstop Danny Worth went 2 for 5 with a double.
Starter Brooks Brown did not give up a run over four innings and stuck out three.
Rob Waite (1-0) got the win in relief.
The teams meet again Friday night as the Mud Hens go for a four-game sweep.
