GWINNETT, Ga. — The Mud Hens dropped their fifth straight game Sunday afternoon as Gwinnett hammered them 9-0 to complete a four-game sweep.

The problems began immediately for Toledo starter Derek Hankins (1-3). Braves leadoff hitter Corey Wimberly singled, then stole second base. Hankins then walked Todd Cunningham, and both runners came around to score when Ernesto Mejia blasted a shot over the left-field fence for a 3-0 lead.

Gwinnett added a pair of additional runs in the inning on a Matt Pagnozzi single.

Hankins allowed another run in the third when he hit Cunningham with a pitch with the bases loaded. Cunningham tagged Hankins for one final run in the fifth with an RBI single before Robbie Weinhardt took over and surrendered two runs in 2 1/3 innings of work.

Toledo managed just five hits, including a single from Jordan Lennerton that kept his hit streak alive at 15 games. He has four homers and 12 RBIs during the streak.

The Hens travel to Charlotte today for the start of a four-game series. First pitch is 7:15 p.m.
