Mud Hens, Walleye partner with ISOH/IMPACT
5/30/2013The Toledo Mud Hens and the Toledo Walleye announced today that they have formalized their partnership with the local ISOH/IMPACT Bucket Brigade to collect disaster relief supplies all year long.
Fifth Third Field and the Huntington Center will become permanent collection sites and will collect disaster relief items such as non-perishable foods, clean-up supplies, and personal, baby, puppy, and kitty care items. Collection bins will be located at every gate during disasters and at guest services and in a central area in times of no disaster.
"We operate year-round, with the Mud Hens and the Walleye, and sadly, there are events nationally and internationally in which people need our help that that's why there's a need for this," said Joe Napoli, general manager of the Mud Hens and Walleye. "But what we've been so pleased and impressed by is the fact that our community is very generous."
Linda Greene, president and chief executive officer of ISOH/IMPACT, said, "We've already sent down three and a half shipments to the victims of the recent tornadoes, but I know we have a lot of bad weather coming this way and we always have to stay on guard and ready to respond. And this community does this. I am so excited about this because I tell you since our relationship began in 2010, it's been awesome."
