MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Detroit Tigers have activated center fielder Austin Jackson from the disabled list and optioned outfielder Avisail Garcia to Triple-A Toledo.

The move was made before Friday’s game at Minnesota, where Jackson was in the leadoff spot for the first time since May 11, when he pulled his left hamstring. Jackson played three games with Toledo on a rehab assignment. He was hitting .272 with 33 runs, two homers and 11 RBIs in 151 at-bats before the injury.

Garcia filled in well, batting .288 with 10 runs, two homers and 10 RBIs in 66 at-bats. But manager Jim Leyland said the team wants Garcia to keep playing regularly, which he’ll do in Triple-A.
