PAWTUCKET, R.I. — Trevor Crowe hit two run-scoring doubles, and starter Duane Below combined with two relievers to pitch the Mud Hens to a 4-1 win at Pawtucket on Tuesday.

Crowe had a two-run double in the sixth and a run-scoring two-base hit in the eighth to help snap Toledo’s three-game losing streak.

The game was a scoreless pitcher’s duel until the Hens scored twice in the sixth.

Daniel Fields opening that frame with a single, then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt before Jordan Lennerton drew a walk. A wild pitch pushed the runners into scoring position, and with two outs Crowe drove in both runners.

Meanwhile Below held the Red Sox in check on two hits and a walk until the seventh. Bryce Brentz opened that inning by drawing a walk, and both Gavin Cecchini and Christian Vazquez singled to load the bases with no one out.

But Below pitched out of the jam, allowing only a sacrifice fly to Alex Hassan.

Crowe got that run back in the eighth with a run-scoring double down the right-field line.

Toledo added an insurance run in the ninth when Tyler Collins scored on a single by Fields.

Kevin Whelan retired the Red Sox in the ninth to claim his fourth save.

NOTE: The Mud Hens will add RHP Jose Ortega to the roster. Ortega was optioned to Toledo when LHP Robbie Ray was called up to Detroit to make his major-league debut Tuesday.
